Beatrice was born and raised in Paris, France, where she studied theatre until she moved to Los Angeles at the age of 20 to pursue acting and warmer weather. She has always been attracted to the art of photography, taking pictures throughout many world trips.
As a working actress in Los Angeles, she knows what kind of headshots an actor needs to get in the door. She started taking pictures of friends who couldn’t get the right headshot, which ultimately landed them many auditions.
In 2002 she opened her own photography studio, specializing in headshots. She photographs actors as naturally as they will let her. She says:” Many women like to wear a lot of make-up to cover up what they see as imperfections. This usually hides what makes them different and interesting, what makes them stand out in a pile of headshots. I like to work with each client to capture what makes them beautiful but also what makes them unique, with the end result being the most attractive photograph to casting directors.”
Beatrice prefers shooting digital images outside in natural light with great attention to detail. She combines the American standard with a subtle French touch. Her headshots have been picked as the most effective ones amongst many by several casting directors.
Beatrice is currently working on a series of portraits and scenes that will be featured in her first exhibit in Paris in May 2008. |
